Irene is finally gone!

Just wanted to say that Vermont has received incredible devastation.. roads completely washed out, homes and landmark covered bridges just washed away like wooden toys!... so incredible, the worst destruction in decades!... my heart goes out to so many ppl who have lost their homes and OMG... family members!... I am so grateful to still be here unscathed... living on the downside of a "mtn"... the towns below flooded... flash flooding everywhere.. but since a few of my new hoya friends have expressed a hopeful response on the other side.. thank you.. I am doing very well... have to go out today and see how others are doing.. hope all of you on this forum are safe as well.

Wow...so glad you are OK. I guess every state has its bad times, huh. Well, at least it's over for now. Now the cleanup.

It's good to hear you are safe and hopefully others will post to this thread so we know how they are doing. I imagine that some areas are probably without power so it may be a while until we hear from others that were in the path.

Thanks for the update...glad you guys are okay and safe. I feel SO badly for SO many people that was in Irene's path!

Glad to hear you're OK. There are still a few that we haven't heard from. They probably don't have any power. Hope they didn't have too much damage.

Very happy to hear that you and yours make it through. It's truly sad that there was so much loss associated with what I know we all hoped was going to be a minor fracas.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts!.. and speaking of pachy seeds... 3 of those I "planted" have germinated so far!... and that was after my fumbling drop to the floor!... so I'm happy.. I pray over them each time I look at them... every hour I'm home!...So... hopefully Sue.. I'll have something to show you in the future... just one will be a miracle! Eileen

So sorry to hear about Vermont! I was hoping that since it was pretty uneventful here that it would be elsewhere as well. There was some flooding here, and some loss of power for some areas but not for too long. Glad to hear you are ok, though, Eileen.

Good to hear that you're okay, Eileen! I saw some of the flooding and damage that Vermont is experiencing right now and my heart goes out to all those in this time of need.

Has anyone heard from David? I think he's in NC. They had some rough weather and I read that there were power outages. I hope his greenhouse made it thru the hurricane.

I assume you mean dmichael (South Carolina)? I spoke with him today, so he's okay and I think (?) his plants too since he didn't mention it.

Probably just busy as usual, but it would be interesting to hear how he fared. Just wanted to say he's still kickin' since you were worried. ^_^

Thanks GG. Yes, I meant dmichael. I thought he was from NC. I was half right. LOL I miss his posts of such beautiful hoya blooms.
