What's the specific Question pls? Is it about the coloring (not abnormal), some do it, some don't, or about the speckling on the right leaf (that I've never seen before, nor do I know about). Sorry!

I wouldn't worry too much, KPs are pretty sturdy stuff, sometimes Hoyas just put out the odd leaf or 3, don't seem to harm the plant from my experience.

Hey, now that might make an interesting thread: Show me your Abnormal Hoya leaf (leaves).

Sorry for not being specific enough. I am curious as to what's causing the speckling on the right leaf? Maybe this is normal and I'm just being "Drama Mama" but I just wanted to be sure that it's not something to worry about before I brush it off. I won't steal your thread btw.

I would recommend reading the article below as it explains the role of Atnhocyanins in plants. Many plants have reddish new growth that is thought to act as a deterrent to grazing animals or insects. As the leaf matures the levels of these pigments drops and the green chlorophyll becomes more prominent.

No sweat Planto, we're both mis-speaking calling this KP, it's really KQ isn't it? Bolstered I believe by the fact that the KP doesn't get that intense burgundy sometimes called 'superba' from what I've seen.

Yes, it is indeed a KQ. I have both KQ and KP; had KP on the brain apparently. Thanks for the correction :)

Thanks for the article, interesting read. I am familiar with the burgundy coloring of new leaves on the KQ, but have never seen suck speckling before. In a nutshell, I suspect the reasoning for both is no different, just a response to environmental factors. In another nutshell, I breath a sigh of relief.
