I think distribution for the genus hoya is India over through the. Asian continent, down through the Pacific Islands and into Australia.

But if you aren't aware of it, Tropicos is a good resource, it's geared towards botanists so is a bit confusing, but it can be figured out. Also Tropicos has links to scanned copies of original descriptions, if you are interested in that type of thing. I looked for the genus Hoya and it is there.

But who knew I should have taken Latin :)
