Not necessarily. I've had some Hoya species for 10 years before they bloom. Others bloom relatively quickly. For me, carnosa and all it's cultivars are slow bloomers. But being outside should help. I wouldn't worry too much if they're growing well. It could be that you've got them in pots that are too large and they've been putting energy into root growth, which trumps blooming.

Yes, unfortunately, some folks get to thinking Hoyas blooming is automatic &/or fast. I grow indoors only & maybe that's part of it, but they rarely bloom for me, mostly off cuttings.

I agree w/ Denise above, & think some Hoyas need to reach a certain age first. That's why it's good to grow Hoyas w/ interesting foliage. This way, if they take some years to bloom, one still has nice, attractive foliage to enjoy.
