| 'Marlea' has been growing quite well since I got this EA basket over the summer. She was winding around anything she could find, which was a goldfish plant, so I hung her up, where she subsequently started to wind around herself and the basket hanger. This is one cheeky plant! The blooms remind me more of a lipstick plant than a hoya.

| You have a beautiful Dischidia ovata! Did it have the Marlea tag on it? Great pictures! |
|
| I agree with Kelly...that is a beautiful Dischidia ovata! Congrats on it blooming as well. I'm afraid its not a Hoya, more than likely mislabeled, which EA is known for. Plus to be fair to EA...I'm sure part of the problem is the tags are removable, so I'm sure employees and customers are also part to blame for tags being switched around Check out the link below. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Dischidia ovata

| Oh my, thanks for clarifying that! The tag did say it was a 'marlea,' and now I see why the flowers didn't look very hoya-esque. I found some pictures of a marlea on GHW's website (http://www.glasshouseworks.com/newplantsb.html, scroll down the alphabetized list) -- which looks more like a compacta to me. |
