Hi everyone,

Since my hoyas are on a non-blooming streak, I thought I'd
share some exciting news with all of you. Last week, dad and I went to the local Career Link and I found a posting for a job in floral design at one of the three flower shops in town! So I picked up an application and handed it back in today! I'm excited because this will be my first job EVER :) . It's only a part time position but what could be better for a greenhorn like me lol. I may not be around as much if I get hired :( . At least it's getting colder now and gardening's starting to wind down. Oh, another off topic question: Does anyone here grow sweet autumn clematis? I'm thinking of putting it in the yard and letting it grow over the little porch where I have my hoyas in the summer. Sorry to ramble, I guess I'm excited!

I grow sweet autumn clematis - LOVE it! The scent is wonderful and it's such a hardy grower!

Kelly, how long have you had your sweet autumn clematis? I've read the fragrance is heavenly and most people describe it as vanilla! That sounds plenty sweet to me!
Do you have a picture of it?

Pug and Jan, I've been waiting for a long time to see a job offering in a flower shop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Brad,
I dug up a little runner from a coworkers clematis about 9 years ago and I've been cutting it back now for years- it grows like a weed! It just finished blooming recently. Wish I had taken a picture of it then- it just gets covered in little star-like flowers and does smell heavenly!

Wow! I'm sure it's a welcome sight every fall! I've seen pictures of how big it can get and it's beautiful when in flower. I just can't wait until I can get one!
