Solo makes several size cups, but if you're talking about the big red ones, that's too big and too deep. I start most cuttings (except for the largest species) in 3" pots. It's also important to have drainage holes. (Maybe you poked those in the solo cup, but thought I should mention it just in case...) When I get enough growth from a new cutting that it starts to get "tippy" in a 3" pot, then I move it up. Smaller species, like lacunosa, can stay in that 3" pot for a long, long time...

Well one of my cuttings has a couple little roots but I had to lasso the cutting and pull a string through the drainage hole so that it wouldn't just plop out, it was tippy for the little cup.

I did poke holes in the solo cups, and I used the little bathroom cup size, I think those are 3in.

I'm glad I didn't use the big red ones! I was in doubt because the cuttings are big. I put them in a covered aluminum pan for extra humidity. They have a lot of arial roots coming out. The window is a touch cold, I hope they don't mind! They seem to be doing well. They get the window light of an eastern windowsill plus a two T8 bulb fixture that's on about 14hours a day or so.

Can a Hoya bloom in a tiny solo cup? lol just curious.

If your hoya came with active peduncles, it can bloom before it roots or during rooting. But rooting can also cause peduncles to drop off the plant. Careful with windows and cold drafts, some hoya species are sensitive and will drop leaves.

It mostly depends upon the type of medium that you're using for the cuttings. With a free-draining medium, the sky's the limit.
