My plant is just starting to grow again after a near disaster, moved it to a pot that was far too large and almost lost it.

Congrats. Mine is finally in bloom. It had buds last year but all dropped. The flowers last such a long time. They still look fresh after 2 weeks. It's also fairly cool in the greenhouse this time of year so that might be preserving the blooms. Are there any other hoyas that produce single flowers like the retusa?

Hoya patella in one that comes to mind.

Oh...Hoya pauciflora is another one that blooms with a single flower. Mine flowered for the first time last spring. A pretty little flower that lasted a long time and smelled very nice.

Mairzy_dotes that H. patella is gorgeous! I'd love to find it in stock somewhere. The pauciflora is nice as well, kind of like a giant retusa bloom. The only place I saw H. patella online doesn't have it in stock. Maybe Gardino's has it? I'm planning on stopping by there in a few weeks and they have several more varieties available on site then are posted online. Maybe I'll get lucky. One can only hope. lol

I assume the flowering period for retusa is fall/winter as that's when mine has developed buds but don't know for sure.
