RE: My Hoya Collection

You've got a nice collection started there and they all look like they're growing nicely. Just a few corrections:

H. "belle" is spelled bella
H. burtonaie is actually tsangii (I know - EA has it mislabeled...)
Your variegated carnosa is the 'Krimson Queen' variety (though the carnosa variegated is technically correct, the KQ differentiates it from KP)
Your green exotica looks like plain old carnosa to me. I think 'Exotica' is another name for one of the KP/KQ varieties and is variegated.
Your variegated kerrii is actually the reverse variegated kerrii, which used to be harder to come by. I got one and I can't even find any variegation in it anymore!
H. krinkle is actually 'Krinkle 8'
Multiflora and javanica are the same (at least I haven't found anyone who can tell me if they are actually two different species...)
'Red Buttons' is a variety of pubicalyx as is 'Royal Hawaiian Purple' and 'Silver Pink'

I have no idea how you'll manage that many plants once they become full grown!! You must have a lot of space to fill - lucky you! Good growing!

Wow...for being new at this, you have a lovely and large collection going there. Congrats!
You hothouse looks very nice. How long have you had it set up? I love all your little decorative pots and cute artifacts around the plants. I also love the idea of the stone on the floor. It looks nice and absorbs the drips and run off. My shade house is mud every time I water with the hose out there.

Karen, that's quite a nice collection indeed!! I love the little trellis'!!! Did you get those plants from one dealer or did you just buy a bunch of the trellis? I know I love to see pics, I'm still waiting for my camera to come back so that I can actually share my little collection. I'm working on it though ;)

Karen,
GREAT collection! Thanks for sharing.

I believe that H. multiflora and H. javanica are indeed 2 different hoyas. If I recall correctly, D. Liddle now says that H. javanica and H. multiflora are 2 different hoyas.

RE: My Hoya Collection

Hi Everyone,
Thankyou for all your kind words.

Denise.....You are right when it comes to the names but when it comes to the Hoya Multiflora and the Javanica they are two different Hoyas, even the leaves are different. Most of my Hoyas came with name tags and I have learned that here in Australia we seem to call them different names to what I have learned people call their Hoyas in other countries but hey at least they are growing well,But thankyou for the info and your kind words.

Mairzy dotes....I have had my hot house set up for about 5 months now, and yes it is much better with the stones on the floor and like you said it stops the build up of mud when watering.

o7sugar....I got most of my Hoyas from David Liddle, some from ebay and some from Bunnings store. The bamboo trellis I got from a seller from ebay and the ladders I got from the Plant shop.

Gabro...Yes you are right they are two different Hoyas,I thought they were the same till I got both types and seen that the leaves are a bit diferent, but I am not sure if the flowers are different though.

Shanna...Thankyou also for your kind words,I am having a lot of fun growing them and when they finally do out grow my hothouse I will just have to extend, but the only thing is I have not told my husband about the Hothouse renovations yet LOL.

Anyhow I would just like to thank you all for taking the time to look at my Hoyas...Happy Growing to you all regards Karen....
