Deciding On A Hoya For My Friend

Hi everyone,

I want to give a potful of cuttings to my friend as a Christmas present and I'm having trouble on which to give him. Since he's a beginner (and a little forgetful at times), I was thinking of either carnosa or one of the pubicalyxes (Pink Silver or Red Buttons, although he really liked the picture of the Black Dragon flowers when SRQ had the pictures of them). His favorite colors are red and black, so that's what made me think of giving him RB. He's only 16 (hence the forgetfulness) but he has pet rabbits that he takes care of, which made me think of giving him a couple of cuttings to try. What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea to me Brad. The Hoya pubicalyx varieties are fast enough growers and tough enough to take some forgetful watering habits.

Thanks mitzicos and Mike!

The Dragons are on my wish list, so unfortunately, I can't give him cuttings of Black Dragon. Both Red Buttons and Pink Silver are large enough to take cuttings from, but I think I'll give him cuttings of Red Buttons.
