Watering Hoyas in a Gritty Mix

I've been using gritty mix for different plants for a while, and last week decided to branch out to one of my Hoyas, a 'Krimson Queen' which was suffering from broken-down soil. I've found, over time, that succulent-type plants sometimes prefer surprising amounts of water in a gritty mix in my environment (under fluorescents, with warm temperatures and fairly low humidity). Sansevieria and Haworthia seem to like going almost dry between waterings, but Aloes prefer to be watered when the mix is just slightly damp, and succulent Peperomias take off if the mix is kept almost wet. So... I've been reading this forum for a while, and I seem to recall that a couple of people here have been growing Hoya in gritty mix for a while; what can I expect? Do they seem to like it on the dry side or on the damp side?

Hi, Corey!

I think it'll depend on the particular plant, the time of year, and the humidity/temperature.
During the Summer when the plants are outdoors, I water copiously and never worry about a thing.
Now that the plants are back inside, I water a bit less often but just as thoroughly. I don't
let my Hoyas dry out completely.
