I brought a fishtail hoya at lowes. For some reason most of the leaves on the branches are dying but the many leaves that have been rooted in the soil are still fine. From what i understand, the rooted leaves wll not branch out.

Anyway, when i brought it the cashier kinda rough handled it and a branch with 6 leaves broke off.

That branch is now rooting in water and has a few roots that have formed.

If i pot it up by itself, will it turn into a full plant in time?
or will it just stay the same 6 inch cutting with roots and do no more growing?

Please advise.
