Mother nature throws us something different every year. Last year was my first bad slug experience and I tried every method of attack. Those dishes of beer were a totally disgusting, labor intensive, pain in the literal butt. I like Sluggo (an organic product you sprinkle around.) I got it at Adams garden center.

This will be a learning experience to see if the eggs survived. For now the best defense is total garden cleanup of all old stems and leaves and maybe unfinished mulch, too.

Looking forward to a better season! But the perennials really did shine last year! There's always a silver lining in the garden, always surprises and always work to be done, things to be learned, and changes to be made. OK I'm drifting....
