| i placed my order for roses last spring, in january -- ;-)
i scheduled for delivery as the last week of march, from three different vendors (pickering, antique rose emporium, and ashdown). it seemed like a good idea at the time, because the weather was so nice. but now it's cold again... should i reschedule my shipment, or do you think i'll be ok with the last week of march (planning to plant that weekend)? thanks so much!

| I generally ask for delivery April 1 - they can sit in a pail of water for several weeks without any harm. |

| oh, thanks, oldroser! that's good advice --- i'll keep that in mind if it seems to early to plant the bareroots. how will i know when it is time to plant the bareroots? is there a certain temperature i'm looking for? sorry, if this seems like a dumb question... and from some other responses, it seems as thought i should push back the delivery of the potted roses --- and should be ok with the bare-roots on the 1st weekend of april. thanks so much!!! |

| You can plant as soon as the ground thaws out and is workable (doesn't turn into mud when you dig in). Mound the roses up to the top when you finish planting - cover up completely with sandy soil or mulch. That will keep them cool until the roots start working. Then wash away the mound with a hose after a few weeks or when your other roses start budding out. |
