Driest March in History

My garden is parched ----I heard on the news that we are experiencing the driest March on record. So despite cool temperatures I have taken matters in hand and started watering in hopes that I can jumpstart some growth in my flowering shrubs. Here's hoping for lots of April showers!

By now the seedlings of self-sewn flowers would be up but my garden is like a sandy desert. I had to water my peas. You know what's next after this...so much rain it'll be moldy.

I just got back from Tucson where they hadn't had measurable rain for 4 months. No wildflowers anywhere. Last year Death Valley had so much rain it had a lake in the middle of it. We must adapt, I guess.

I'm not watering the garden except for the newer perennials.

I planted sugar snaps yesterday and was surprised to see how moist the soil was when the surface is so dry.
Rain predicted for tomorrow so I'll have to get the front beds cleaned out today.
