Memorial Day - Vanderbilt Hyde Park

Kay, just thought I'd make this a new thread in case folks missed it. I got travel directions, it's really not far from me so I'll see you at the tent. What other types of plants are offered for sale and how many roses will they have? Want to make sure I get some before they are all snatched up by hungry rosarians.

I really should know what's sitting in the cold frame. Ostrich ferns, for certain. It looks like none of the pennisetum survived the winter, which is pretty bad since there were about 100 pots of that. I think some pulmonaria. There is often siberian iris and yellow flag iris. A very nice blue dwarf iris that I've never found a real name for. I'll try to remember to look on Thursday. At this point, I have almost all the plants from there that I have any interest in at all, so I don't look too closely until the volunteers start bringing in plants from their home gardens.

The roses will be just what I can bring in. I don't want to bring anything too obscure because then I'll have to explain it. R. glauca is pretty self explanatory, and the Apothecary Rose people know from historic/herb gardens. I might try to pry out some R. palustris too. It's a truly great plant for the right (sopping wet) site.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I hurt my finger Saturday, and typing has been a pain.

Hi Kay,

Sorry you hurt your finger.

Hmm - Swamp Rose - hope you do bring some because I have a muddy area of back pasture it would love.
