Last frost in April?

We had a very light frost on May 4th but it didn't cause any damage. And now there's no forecast of frost for the next 10 days. I find this hard to believe but just planted the first tomato. And am going to put in beans today. Wish my mail-ordered tomato plants would arrive as I'm itching to get them in the ground. My Opalka tomatoes are a bit too small to set out but give them another week and.... Maybe there is something to this global warming thing.

RE: Last frost in April?

I put in my tomatoes yesterday as well! I took my cue from the local farmers around here - they put in frost tender seeds like zinnias and cosmos and basil a week ago, and they're all selling tomato starts. I figure they've got way more experience than me and more to lose, too, so I can trust their judgement. I don't want summer to rush in too fast, though. I've still got bare root roses coming and tender little plants! I'm glad it's cooler today at least.

Just wait, though, with the weird weather we get around here, we'll probably get a snowstorm by the end of the month!
