soy beans

I'm trying soybeans for the first time. I planted them in flats in case of late frost so they are not in the garden yet, and are just starting to sprout.

Anyone grow them before? Do you have any advise?

I've grown them a few times.
I stick them straight into the ground. I've done 4 different types- one was an experimental I got from here.

They go in pretty early, and the only problem I've had has been 'Japanese beetles' - they were a HUGE issue for me.

I've picked and picked and picked them off of my soybeans, grapes, and an unknown flowering bush that returns to me each year.

thanks :) I'm going to try a few in large pots as well as the garden. wish me luck.
So far so good. I haven't seen a japanese beetle yet this year. I also have hand picked them off of my hibiscus and rose bushes. I have those devils.
