| I have many clematis that do really well here. I recently purchased a c. Florida Sieboldi mail order. The catalog said z5 hardy, but the more I read, the less I believe it. I was wondering if anyone here in the same area grows one sucessfully outdoors? In a container, and overwinter indoors? |

| Well, I had received my clematis from Klehms Song Sparrow Nurseries first week of May, I planted it near a Japanese Maple and it took off, I didn't expect much it's first season, but it has lots of buds and a few have opened. They are really very pretty, and dainty compared to most of my clematis. I really hope this one overwinters well. I have it in the warmest microclimate I have, I had dahlias overwinter there for years (until this last winter (?). I will probably make sure there are lots of oak leaves at its base come late fall. Does any one else grow this one, or any others ? I really love clematis...any pics? One is just opening daytime and the other is fully open evening shot. |
