I was driving through the town of Mamaroneck the other day and th harbour was full of trees in pink blossom. Does anyone know the area and what variety these are? I was hoping of planting one.

They are Japanese sakura (cherry blossom), though not sure which variety.

Hint: they should graft to any stone fruit, nobody would notice if you took a little scion wood.
