Retirement gift suggestions

| We're trying to find a nice gift for our retiring librarian. Newburgh area. Approximately $60 to spend. She has part shade and sun, a high rocky wall, and that's about all I know of her landscape. She likes hydrangeas for cutting and drying, but, doesn't especially like gardening. (Translation -- weeding). No high-maintenance plants. Any thoughts? |

Endless Summer. A new blue hydrangea which will flower after being winter-killed to the ground. And you might add a supply of fertilizer suitable for acid loving plants and maybe some aluminum sulfate to ensure that it blooms blue rather than pink. I got one as a birthday present and was really pleased. Mine hasn't yet flowered but they can be purchased in bloom. |
