| ..and what a schlepp, 40 miles from home, but worth it, once a year I'd say.
Just as I was sure I was on the wrong road I saw the square miles
of tree nursery, it's HUGE! Where do they get their clientele being
so remote? Vacationers don't buy plants, or do they?
It's very well staffed and organized.
Perennials were mostly very reasonable and I've never seen Coleus like theirs.
I got some orange yarrow I've long been looking for, some "Royal wedding"
poppies (all 2.95 ea) and a big red flowering Quince, ditto, for 30.00.
I told them I'd never have come but for a G.W. member recommendation.
It's good to have one more place to look when you're after something in particular! |

| Hey, can I ask where Story's is? My father-in-law will be visiting for a few days next weekend and wants to visit some of our local nurseries. He comes from Suffolk County where they have HUGE nurseries and every lawn is manicured to tidy perfection. ( not my perfection, but everything in it's place ) I'd love to share a well stocked nursery with him and learn of a new one at the same time for me : ) Thanks, JoAnn |

| Story's is in Freehold, NY and you may well ask where that is. Go up the NY Thruway and exit at Catskill and take Rt 23 west up the mountain. Turn right on Route 32 (sign says to Freehold) and persist until you come to Freehold which is a crossroads with an inn on the right (absolutely delicious food). Turn left (sign says to Story's) and if you go far enough, Story's will be on the left. You'll see the tree plantings first. |

| Thank you so much. It sounds like a day trip for me, but it may well be worth it. I may even stop in for lunch...I bet that it will take me a good hour and a half to get there from New Windsor. JoAnn Ha ha ha...you read my mind....I would have asked where Freehold was : ) |
