Garden Tours are so expensive this year!

| $40 for the tour in Woodstock. The one in Rhinebeck is $5 a garden. Is this a result of just skyrocketing prices in this country or is this boiling down to an elitist activity?
I used to love going on garden tours, but now it's getting too expensive for my retirement income anymore. Maybe they need an alternate way to raise the extra money they "need," instead of making tours unavailable to the average person.
Prices are getting way out of hand. |

Just got a message from a friend saying I really shouldn't miss the tour in Rhinebeck as it was 'only' $5. a garden. she probably knows that one or two gardens is enough for me. I hadn't heard about this tour - do you know where I can get more info? |

| I went to the Marbletown tour a couple of weeks ago, and at $25 it seemed expensive. You provide your own transportation, and the show gardeners no doubt cover their own expenses (lemonade?). The most enthusiastic potential audience for these are the new gardeners, many of them new homeowners who are digging their own beds and saving their pennies. Charging these kinds of fees hardly seems like a good way to add new blood to the local gardening community! |

| Olsroser, I saw info about the Rhinebeck tour in the Woodstock Times (which I don't have handy or I'd look it up for ya.) |
