The HVIDS Annual Plant sale is this weekend at the Poughkeepsie Galleria! August 6 10:00AM-6:00PM, August 7 10:00AM-5:00PM , August 13 10:00AM-5:00PM Adams Fairacre Farms in Poughkeepsie. Iris and Daylily selections that will not be found at any garden store and much cheaper than ordering off line. I always stock up on more iris than I should be able to plant, but in the end I find places for them. over 150 cultivars of iris (most between $2.00 & $4.00)and over 40 cultivars of daylily ($4.00-$8.00)

I know I'm late in asking, but how did the sale go? I considered attending but when I looked around at my already overcrowded perennial beds, reconsidered.

RE: Hudson Valley Iris and Daylily Society plant Sale!

Sat Aug 6th was the best ever for tall bearded irises! There were many many varieties including newer ones, historics & rebloomers. Sat nite Jerry & friends dug even more so there were some different ones for Sunday. Sales for the weekend were an all time high! There were somewhat fewer median irises. There were many daylilies for sale, too. On Sat Aug 13th at Adams, many irises and daylilies were still available, but sales were a little slow, possibly because of the heat. The club were invited to have an information table at Adams big spring flower show.
In this drought, my perennials other than irises are crispy, hopefully going dormant early not dying. The newly planted irises are holding on & I am hoping for some rebloom from established plants in a few weeks.
