How did everyone make out this weekend with rain, flooding, etc.?

I was wondering how everyone survived this weekend. In Port Jervis most people were very lucky. While quite a lot of people did sustain flood damage in their homes, the Delaware did not come barrelling over it's banks like everyone feared it was going to.

I am up higher in town but with the runoff from the mountain still had water in my basement. I am fortunate however and have a sump pump and pit in my basement because we do get water in heavy rains.

I know that the fire department was still pumping out people's basements last night.

I was just hoping you all were lucky enough to escape any flood damage.

Follow these links to see some pictures we took on Saturday, 9/18. This is the first time that I am doing this so if it doesn't work let me know

Luckily, we only had a little water in the basement and a few small branches down. My brother lives in the Town of Deerpark and so far has been spared any flooding. When we were looking for a house a few years ago we saw one right on the Wallkill River. I thought it would be nice to be that close, but then I got some sense! Now I'm very glad I don't have that to worry about floods (just the crazy drivers speeding by our house!).

I live in Rockland County on the west side, and we must have had some strong wind to knock down both these arbors. The bench/arbor is very heavy - can't imagine what kind of wind took it down - maybe a mini-tornado?

LynneNY how did you post your pictures directly onto this page? That was what I wanted to do, but could not figure out how to???

Teri ~

I also use photobucket for storage and it's really easy to post pictures from there. Under the picture you'd like to post are 3 different formats. You want the middle one - the one that says "tag". Copy and past that line here and your picture should be directly in your post.

Hope that helps... Lynne

Wow! Some pictures! We live in Greenville and were not able to get anywhere near the bridge because they had 209 closed. I was able to see the water under the erie overpass (or whatever you would call it). We are fortunate to be up on the mountian. We did get a small leak in our roof, so I got water in my brand new enclosed porch (it was comming in through the light fixture)! It damaged my paint job, but hopefully not the sheetrock. The only problem is that I glazed over the paint, so I kind of mixed it myself. There is no way I'll ever match it. I guess I'll have to hang something over it.
