First frost..

..in my neck of the woods Saturday night.

I always forget how unequivocal it is, always wonder several weeks

or days before, did it freeze last night?

When it comes, it's like an axe falling, dividing the tender

from the hardy. Such similar green leaves, these are still green,

those are mush, period. Halloween.

Crunch, crunch, and there goes my back
just avoiding a fall
even the dog is slipping and sliding
over-long claws and all!
