Should I fertilize shrubs this Fall?

Normally I give a light (1/2 dose) of organic fertizer to all of my trees and shrubs in the Fall. However, since this summer seemed to be so stressful to some of the plants until the recent rain, I'm wondering if I should do it this year? What are others doing?

I'm not fertilizing any shrubs or trees this fall ... just based on this much warmer than normal fall I didn't want to get any tender growth that would just get killed. I'm going to wait until mud season and get the fertilizing done then.
