I am not aware of a garden club in Woodstock. I do know that there is an annual garden tour every summer but cannot recall who was in charge of that. I remember reading somewhere on here that there were others looking for a garden club here and in Rhinebeck. Maybe its something that we could get together if enough people in Ulster county are interested. I'm in Saugerties

Yes, there is a garden club in Woodstock. I went to a lecture once and enjoyed myself. I didn't join, though. You could get the number from the Cooperative Extension in Kingston or call 339-3555. I found that # in another post on this forum.

I am in Kingston and would love to get together with a local group to discuss ideas and exchange information. What would you all want in a garden club, and how would we all connect if we wanted to meet?

I would like to do seedling exchanges, learn useful techniques(like right now I am looking for an expert fruit tree grafter to teach me how to graft my own scionwood to rootstock) I've called Cornell Co-op and was willing to pay a master gardener to teach me and they said there was no one doing that. Imagine that- the state of Apples, and no one teaching how to graft? I would like to be able to connect and learn from others. We certainly can meet somewhere easy for everyone- say Forsyth Park in Kingston or somewhere in Woodstock.

The IES in Millbrook has a Plant Propogation class starting in February. It covers various methods, and I know that grafting is one of them. You do your own cuts, and even perform an assigned method of grafting in the greenhouse. So, while the class is not specific to grafting, you will get some basic, practical experience. This is likely the last time this specific class will be offered, as the IES is changing their adult education program. You can see some details at the link below.
