Lonicera Sempervirens - NATIVE honeysuckle ???

Hello all!! Does anyone know if a Lonicera Sempervirens Native Honeysuckle can grow on a telephone pole? I have never had one of theses plants, and find conflicting information online as to if they need supports to twine upwardly, or if they can handle the job by themselves. I find information telling me they grow in my region well, they are NOT the invasive species, they attract Hummers and will grow up to 25 ft tall, which is perfect for what we are trying to accomplish in this area, but nothing says if they have little suckers to adhere themselves, or not. I am hoping someone out there can tell me if there is a specific variety of Native honeysuckle that can twine around a pole this large.
