Is it fair to put out a feeder?

I see from the migration maps that the hummers are just now coming into Florida. I would love to put out a feeder, but I will not be here during the summer/early fall. Is it fare to put out a feeder and then take it down in mid May? I would hate to have any hummers rely on my feeder, but think there should be flowers out for them. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Go for it! - and enjoy them. If they are migratory, then your feeder will be a gas stop for them anyway. Taking it down in May won't bother them as there are other food sources then. Just keep the feeders clean, use the proper sugar water ratio and change it regularly. :)

I concur with janalyn...Go ahead and put one out!
It will get used a lot as the Hummers migrate northward, but will not become reliant on it.
