Fertilizer for Hummer Garden

Hello,

I'm a newbie hummingbird lover and I have a question. Well last summer I had my first visit from our winged friends and I instantly went to the store to buy a feeder. Then a few more came to visit my yard. Now I'm addicted!!! I've done hours of research and I've bought several more feeders awaiting their northern migration. I've started germinating 100's of seeds in my basement to start a hummingbird garden. I have impatiens, columbine, hosta, salvia, foxglove, hibiscus, balloon flower, hollyhock, and several other species that I can't remember at this moment. My question is; is it safe for the hummers to use the flowers if I fertilize them? Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Teresa
