On Monday, I saw a male doing the back-and-forth, in-your-face part of the mating ritual in front of a perched female. The first females arrived on the 10th, so this could give us a rough idea on how long it takes them to recover from migration before nesting. However, IMO, his performance was less than stellar, so he may not get to be the baby-daddy.

Yes thats a pretty serious dance. You are a couple of weeks ahead me as my first male arrived on the 25th and the first female on the 27th. Have lots of females around but not enough males as yet.
