Hummingbird Garden

Will hummers come around if seed feeders are put up?

My wife and I would like to add a couple of tube feeders in our yard to attract song birds. We currently have only hummingbird feeders (4 feeders). Will the hummers continue to visit if song birds are present due to the addition of tube feeders? Is there a distance the two types of feeders should be seperated by?

I have BOSS feeders hanging from the same tree limb as hummer feeders, and they all get along just fine. It's my theory that hummers feel safe when big birds are around - more eyes to watch for predators - safety in numbers, etc.

The only conflict I've heard of is Chicadees chasing the hummers away from feeders. I don't think you'll have a problem.

My hummers don't mind the finches that they share my feeders with. I often have a finch and hummer perched on one of my feeders at the same time. I wish I could get rid of the finches. All that sugar water is bad for their cholestrol! LOL
