Major Wheeler in a planter?

I have 2 quart sized Major Wheeler that I am hardening off. I want to put them by the side of my neighbors garage. I can't put any kind of support on his garage, at least not tethered, so I thought I would like to put them in planters with attached trellis. My husband is making these for me so I know they will be sturdy enough. Anybody successfully grew honeysuckle in planters before? How big a planter should I plan on, wider, higher, longer, etc?

I have a second year major wheeler which I have on a 6 ft trellis which is supported against a yard light. I now wish I had gotten an 8ft trellis as it as grown to the top of the yard light which is taller than my trellis.

Maybe you could use a large pot of some kind and have your husband build a support around the pot in the shape of an upside down U. Just a thought.

I have a young pink honeysuckele in a 5 gallen bucket,with a 4x4 trellis stuck in it.for right now the bucket will be good . I do belive by the end of summer I will have to put it in the ground next to the fence. or get a much larger pot .and keep it trimmed to the size of the trellis.
