Fun hummer experience last night!

Last night..well twilight time I guess you could say..I went on the deck after my shower because I was hearing Orioles (woohoo!) and wanted to find them..but of course while I was there..I had my camera out and "at the ready" for the hummer.

Wellll..that sneaky devil...put one up on me. Seeing I was just out of the shower, I had wet hair, which in turn much to my initial dismay, was atrracting those teesny black flies..after sitting there a while..I heard "the hum" and it seemed to be right in my ear. I tried really really hard not to move my head so I searched with my eyes. Sure enough..the lil sneak was eating the teensy black flies that were circling me!! It was too precious.

I wish I had had a hummer around when those black flies deicded to have me for dinner last week. I ended up with bits all around my neck, and wrist while I was trimming my neighbors bushes.
