Where did they all come from?

First time poster here and have a question. For the last few years I have always put up 3 feeders and would usually get 3 or 4 birds. I would use the sugar water mix. This year I put up the same feeders and have been using some feed called first nature and have more birds than I can count. Whats up with that? Is it the feed? I bought a few bottles last year a walmart when it was on sale for a dollar a bottle. Now this spring its $3.85. Last night just at dusk it looked like bees swarming there were so many. At least 50. This has been going on for the last few weeks. I added 2 more feeders and it seemed to attract more birds. I even have orioles trying to eat at them so bought a couple of oriole feeders. Are there more birds this year? My wife joked they would eat us out of house and home. LOL I have to fill the feeder every day and sometimes more often. Thanks for any ideas.
