I went to my local Lowes the other day and was surprised at the variety and health of the plants. They had Knockout roses, Everlasting Hydrangeas, wigelas, chaste trees that were three feet tall and covered with buds and many things I can't recall. Unfortunately, I don't have anyplace to put them right now, but I was impressed. Also, the prices, while higher than I was paying for Lowes plants in Florida, sure beat the local nursuries and the internet, which seem to be getting much pricier and are charging ever more for shipping.

I meant to add that I counted at least 30 pots of them as well.

Glad to hear you Lowe's had healthy plants, the one near me.. ack..most had already flowered or looked as if they had been neglected for weeks. Quite sorry looking to day the least, although the Gartenmeister looked AWESOME.

The Gartenmeister fuchsia is a great one, and their cuttings root very easily. Plus it's a really good plant to over winter in a sunny window. A few white flies but not too bad at all. I put some instructions on how to grow plants from cuttings on "My Page" if anyone's interested.

In reading everyone elses finding on lowes etc., Ive come to the conclucion my lowes and walmart sucks!!! as far as finding hummer friedly flowers. They have none of the items everyone is finding elsewhere , but I have been able to find things at nurseries.

hummersteve-- don't dispair! Maybe all the good stuff is sold out! That is what I keep telling myself anyways.. I killed my salvia Hot Lips (oops!) so I now need a new one..and I found mine at Lowe's of all places last year..but nuttin' so far. I do a "nursery run" at least 3 times a week right after the gym, which I have found does 2 things: 1) I keep up o who has what, and 2) it keeps me from eating for at least an hour and a half!

This is the first year that I found some and they were in 3" pots at a small nursery near me. For the past couple years, I have never found any around here anywhere - whether Lowes or HD or Walmart or even any of the local nurseries, large or small, that I frequent! It is a pretty fuchsia now that I finally found some.
