Hummingbird Garden

It's about time!!!

I just saw my first hummingbird of the season about an hour ago. FINALLY! A female ruby throat. This was much later than last season. I caved this morning and hung out my bright red tablecloth on the clothesline. My daughter pointed out what she thought was a chickadee that landed in our holly right next the the tablecloth and our hummingbird feeder. Not a chickadee! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. It's funny how something so small can bring such joy.

Saw my first rubythroat of the season today, at feeder and flowers. I'll be watching to see if he comes back.

so many folks have commented on the h'birds being so late this year. With the mild winter you'd have thought it would have been the opposite. Anyone have any clue?
