What's Going On At Night At The Feeders?

This is so strange. I have two first nature feeders hanging on sheperd's hooks at the edge of my patio. For the past three nights, "something" has been emptying these feeders, and lots of dirt on top of the base around the port holes. I have just 3 or 4 hummers, so there is just a cup of nectar in each one.

Could this be a racoon? I have seen them at night on occasion, but have never had a problem with hummingbird feeders, ever!!!

Has anyone else experienced this and what are your thoughts as to the culprit? This is driving me nuts!
