I've been frequenting this forum and gardening for hummingbirds and butterflies for a couple of years. I put up my first hummer feeder early this spring and waited patiently for visitors. So far I've seen one. This weekend, just for fun, I helped my boyfriend hang an extra feeder I had at his house. Within 8 hours he had hummers visiting every 5 minutes! Both males and females, and we even got to witness territorial males chasing each other off around the house. I guess it doesn't hurt that he's in a suburb off a long cul de sac back in the woods. He calls it "The Illusion of Seclusion," because he's surrounded by trees but a 10 minute drive from the airport. Oh, well. I guess I can enjoy hummers at his house.
