Hummingbird Garden

when to set out HB Feeders?

I never got around to feeding the hummers last year b/c my yard was a total disaster, but I have a newly planted butterfly/hummer garden and 2 feeders I d like to get out.

I am in Mass-no plants are even in bloom yet (I have scarlet runners, fuschia (this one is flowered cuz its an annual i bought), zinnia, agastache, monarda, etc).

I am assuming they only come once the plants are in bloom?? My husband saw a couple last year on my azaleas so I guess they might be in the area now??

Right now is my recommendation. I have had a male here in Michigan for a week or so.

The hummers have already returned to Mass. I would suggest hanginbg at least one feeder now. I am in NY and I have had 2 feeders up since Easter. When they first return they generally use feeders more than flowers
