Hummingbird Garden

So many questions!

Hi guys,

I've spotted a few hummingbirds in my garden already but I want to know how I can attract more. Everything from food, feeder, flowers...etc etc. I've managed to find a lot of free information on the web, but I was also wondering if anyone has ever gotten a great book on the topic. There are books I'm considering. The first is the Stokes Hummingbird Book (1998) and the second is a much more recent ebook: http://neatwebstuff.com/hb/?hop=1starbooks

Anyone recommend one over the other? Again, I'm a beginner so I'd like something that is easy to follow and understand.

I think the best book available for attracting hummers to your guard is Nancy Nesfield's book Hummingbird Gardens. It is divided into regions with a list of plants that grow in each region. You are by no means restricted to those plants but it can be used as a guideline. Nancy grows all her own plants and has probably trialed each and every plant that she mentions in the book. Other very good selections are from Sheri Williamson who is the co-Director of the Southeastern AZ. Bird Observatory. Here books and DVD's are listed on SABO's Website

I don't think you can beat either one of these authors' books and they have beautiful color illustrations.
