Hello everyone!

I live in West Chester PA (south easter portion of PA). Its a suburban Burough with a good amount of vegitation, gadens and trees and we have some farm land and forest around us. I have been gadeneing and feeding hummers ( I have plants in three places and two feeders) for approximatly 8 - 10 years. The number of hummers has very gradually increased from 1 or 2 to several. Every year its the same, I see 1 or 2 early and late in the day, then several a couple times a day, then a bunch throughout the day. May I assume that this sudden increase (right around this time of year (i.e. mid-June) is the young of the year, more migrators show up or bothe? When I get the increase (now) I often se them two at a time and althought they do spar a bit, they seem much more tolorant of each other than when there were only 1 or 2. Is this pretty common, what's going on from the bird's perspective?

Thanks!

JD
