Sunflowers for Hummers!

I found that hummingbirds like sunflowers, so I planted some indoors. They were very tall and spindly. I planted them outside and the rabbits ate them (that was before we had our fence). Now i guess some sunflower seeds from the birdfeeder spread and took root. These sunflowers are sturdy and look like real sunflowers. I can't wait until they flower so I'll have sunflowers for my hummers!

I have never seen a hummer nectaring on the seed Sunflowers, Helianthus annuus. I've grown the Black-oil that sprouted from the bird feeder, also have grown the Mammoth sunflowers. Other birds absolutely love them though!

The hummingbirds like Tithonia, common name Mexican Sunflower. I see them nectaring on those flowers quite often when they're blooming.
