Found two hummers early this morning at a park near our home. They must have been chasing each other and flew into a window in the pavillion down there. One was dead the other was puffed up and breathing, somewhat heavily. This must have happened last evening by how stiff the one hummer was. I borught the other home and put it in a screened in bug catcher and have tried to get it to drink sugar water from a dropper but it won't drink. It moves a bit every now and then but mostly just sits with its eyes closed, puffed up. I know it can be injured from the window strike but I was hoping it was just cold this morning as it was on the cool side last night. It has been here for about 4 hours now though and hasn't gotten any better. Any ideas on anything that could help? There are no rehabbers close by so there is no way I could get to one until this evening....
