Hummingbird Garden

I don't like using a flash on the hummers, it probably stresses them. But it's the only way to get an accurate count late in the day. I wanted to see what would show up at 1 of 3 groups of feeders, then extrapolate that to get some idea how my resident population is doing - after the first clutch has fledged, but before the second. They were mostly adult males, I don't know where the females and juvies were. Thought some of y'all would like to see this...

ctnchpr--- I wasnt aware they had more than one clutch, but I did have a shot of one that looks ready this late in the season. This shot was taken june 22. BTW nice group you have there.

Steve-It does look like your female is full of eggs!!

ctnchpr--I can't believe how happily all those males get along--that would never happen here.

I have two feeders up and the hummingbirds (females usually) still chase each other away, and I never see more than one at a time at the feeders. Why is that?
