WOW....The Dinner Table is Getting Busier!

It's definitely time to buy more sugar and I couldn't be happier. Just in the last 48 hrs., my population seems to have doubled, if not more! Late yesterday afternoon, we had a brief thunderstorm (a much needed one), which cooled things off a bit, so I was able to sit on the breezeway to enjoy the show! They are sharing more nicely and the constant chasing has slowed. Guess it's time to put up my other feeders which will make 12 altogether. I thought about putting up a few more, but 12 is about all I can manage!

With the new arrivals, the feeders are emptying very quickly, so it looks like the frenzy has begun...yep, it's almost Aug.!

Hummersteve, could some of these be your former houseguests???!!! Happy Hummin' All...

Glad to hear the good news. I would say if you are noticing more adult males now then I would say some could by former visitors of mine. Feed them well.

With all the excitement, I haven't taken notice of the males or females, but will be more observant tomorrow. Steve, did you increase your sugar/water ratio? I'm thinking tomorrow I will begin the 3/1.

No I havent changed my feeder mix as yet. Was gone all day today on a fishing trip and when I returned home about 9pm I noticed all my feeders were all but drained, so though being tired I cleaned and refilled for the little buggers. Seems I just cant get away from hummers while I was at the lake today putting bait on my hook a hummer appeared out of nowhere checking out my red bobber. That one is most likely headed your way too as it was about 30mi south of where I live.

Do you have a camera , start showing some pics and vids of your hummers. I had 4 extra of those small walmart feeders and put them on those posts out back and the hummers are loving that fighting for position on one plus the vines are starting to shoot out red trumpets now. I noticed several today.
