Hummingbird Garden

Hummingbirds and sharpie

My feeder's getting old and the colors have faded. I decided to use sharpie marker to make them vibrant again. But now I'm worried that if I put it outside, the fumes may harm the animals. If I let it air out for a day or so, or rinse it or whatever else, will it be safe for hummingbirds, bees, ants, etc?

Rainbow, I think if you air it out for a day or two in the sun, it will probably be ok. I also think if it's harmful, they will stay away--my guess is that if there are fumes they can detect them at a distance.

If you're still worried after airing it out, why not dab a little sugar on it and leave it on the ground for a day or so, see if the ants;wasps come?
