hummingbird nests

This year, we have had a bumper crop of hummingbirds. I am so happy that they are so at home in my yard!

Earlier this week we had a very brief, but intense thunderstorm, which blew over a large sycamore tree in the backyard. Today, when my husband got out his chainsaw to clear the debris, we discovered that there were two hummingbird nests in the tree!

My question is, will the birds stay around without their nests, or move on?.

Aww I don't know but how cool that you have nests on your property! Hope they are ok.

Im hoping the young have already vacated that next. Im thinking hummers will use the same nests but will reinforce them for each new nesting.
