Mr. and Mrs. Hummingbird

Today two hummingbirds (male and female) visited our hummingbird garden. The male has now claimed the garden as his territory and he sits on the fence and watches. He even buzzed my little brother! I was back there refilling the ant moat and the female came up to me! I am so happy to have my garden visited by a hummingbird couple!

RE: Mr. and Mrs. Hummingbird

Hate to break it to you, but hummingbirds don't form couples like that. The male's not protecting the garden for the female; he's just in it for himself. Hopefully he won't sit close by all day long and chase all the other birds away. If that happens, about all you can do is put out more feeders than he can defend.
